Professional Profile

 

I have been involved in the training and education of Indonesian professionals and students since 1994. My desire to assist people with their educational goals began while interning at the former Sekolah Tinggi Manajemen Bandung (STMB), an educational extension of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom). At STMB, I was a guest lecturer and assisted the school with a potential partnership with Delft University in the Netherlands.

 

Based on this experience, I wished to return to Indonesia and continue my experience as a consultant and/or educator. This opportunity presented itself two years later through an invitation to return, conduct business research, and manage the startup of a business consulting firm. Unfortunately, the 1997 Asian financial crisis brought an abrupt end to the research and thrust me back into the education and training field, which I have continued working in until this day.

 

As a result, I have over 25 years of teaching experience in Indonesia. I have worked for notable institutions such as Prasetiya Mulya Graduate School of Management and taught subjects in various fields such as Management Education, Cultural Awareness, Business Communications, Business English, Academic English, and most recently, Academic and Language Test Preparation, and University Placement Assistance.

 

I now work as an Independent Education Consultant for individual students as well as organizations involved in the facilitation of higher education such as the American Indonesian Exchange Foundation (AMINEF). My involvement with these organizations ranges from conducting scholarship interviews to providing workshops on cultural exchange, academic improvement, and entrance examinations like the SAT, GRE, and GMAT.

 

I also assist students from around the world with qualifying for overseas education in universities where English is the primary language of instruction. I do this by providing private tutoring for entrance examinations such as TOEFL and IELTS for language and SAT, GMAT, and GRE for academics. In addition, I coach students on how to successfully write personal insight essays and personal statements for university admissions applications. I also help students prepare their responses for the academic interview whenever it is required, especially for graduate programs.
